It’s been a busy cycling year so far and set to get busier.

Spending lots of Monday afternoons at the Newport velodrome.  I introduced my son, Bjorn, to track cycling in January.

I have riding the Thursday evening time trials at Latton, and have worked hard to get my 10 mile TT time down from just under 30 mins at the beginning of the season to 28 mins 15 as a Personal best in early July.  Aim to sub 28 by the end of the season.

I have ridden several sportives including a fantastic Velothon Wales.  Still to come is Ride London 100, an attempt on Mount Ventoux in September

After Ventoux (see pic) I will be riding Velothon Birmingham.

One of the year’s highlights was taking part in Eroica Brittania with wife Betsy Jane.  We had a great weekend in Bakewell in June, taking the Classic 1970 Holdsworth Campagnolo professional for me and a newly acquired 1983 Claud Butler Ladies Mistral for Betsy. Great to be there with Rich and Becky Cox and to meet Chris Boardman whilst he was fliming the insert pieces ready for the ITV4 Tour De France coverage.
