Wishing all my friends, colleagues and customers a really good Christmas holiday and a prosperous New Year.  I’ve had a really good year;

sustrans swindonsantas

  • Fixed a good many bikes and picked a few new skills along the way
  • Ran several Bike Maintenance Courses
  • Taught several people including some adults to ride
  • Took part in Ride London 100 for Macmillan and raised nearly £1,000
  • Led several Swindon Skyrides including our last ever Skyride
  • Did about a dozen Dr Bike events for Swindon Council
  • Taught Bikeability in several Swindon and Wiltshire Schools
  • Organised another Castles Bike Ride for Macmillan in June. We had over 300 riders out.
  • Finally broke 30 mins for a 10 mile TT. Nothing to write home about when Dennis Hedges (82) still goes faster than me.
  • Developed a love of track cycling at Newport Velodrome and passed accreditation in December
  • Acquired two vintage Holdsworth Bikes that ride brilliantly

2017 beckons with lots already planned

  • Castles Bike Ride will take place on Sunday June 4th.   I am hoping to add a route just for roadies so even more people can take part.
  • I have entered the lottery for another place in Ride London-Surrey 100 in July
  • Have booked onto L’Eroica with Besty, we will be riding those “new” Holdsworths
  • Entered Velo Birmingham
  • Booked Bikeability with four schools in Swindon
  • Will be running several Bike Maint Courses at Escott Community Hall
  • Will be helping to run a Cycle Orienteering event in Swindon at Easter Time
  • Looking forward to more Time Trials

I hope you all enjoy your cycling next year.   Time for a request

Several of the events I am involved with require the help of volunteers to register riders or marshall road junctions.
